My students need an HP laptop computer that is compatible with our 3D printer so they can build and design things during our engineering units.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As students pile into my class, I hear them exclaim, "Wow, look at that!" or "This is the coolest room in the school!" I am the science teacher to 600+ students at an elementary school in Oakland and I try my very best to create an environment that is exciting, interactive, and fun. My students live in a socioeconomically disadvantaged area of Oakland. 100% of students at my school receive free and reduced lunch.
It is important to me to give them an opportunity to be exposed to an authentic science experience.
It is my goal to make students excited about learning science and thinking about entering the field of science as they prepare to go to college. The students at my school have become very passionate and excited about science, which has made me very proud.
My Project
Currently, we are unable to use our awesome 3D printer because the computer I have for class is too slow. Having this requested HP laptop, which is a faster computer, will make it possible for my students to use the 3D printer.
When I get this faster HP computer, I plan to design an engineering unit that utilizes my 3D printer for the 4th and 5th graders at my school.
Having the students design and build something out of their imagination will be so exciting for them. My students rarely get to use high-tech equipment, so giving them the opportunity to use the 3D printer will be a great learning experience and also will blow their minds.
