Creating a Sensory Space

Help me give my students students items to use in a sensory room/place to refocus, self-regulate behavior, and find calm in their school day.

My Project

The primary goal of creating this sensory room is to create a safe, calming space where students can decompress and self-regulate. This room will be equipped with various sensory tools and activities, such as soft lighting, tactile toys, weighted blankets, calming sounds. By engaging with these sensory elements, students can reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and attention, and enhance their overall well-being.

By having a sensory room, students of any age and ability will be able to find ways by using their senses to self-regulate their emotions and find an inner peace that will allow them to return to their classroom and be a more engaged learner.

This project will provide a variety of sensory materials that will allow students to explore, regulate their bodies, and participate meaningfully in daily classroom activities

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
