Creating a Safe Space for Students with Exceptional Abilities

Help me give my students a chance to build a safe space to work, learn and play. Half have special needs like fine motor and sensory, while others need a space to calm down and reflect.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project focused on the needs of those who require extra encouragement and extra resources to explore self regulation. We encourage them to self reflect and encourage others to find what makes a difference in their day! Weighted blankets and weighted animal plush lap pets keep students calm when over- stimulated.

The virtual reality help students relax by stepping into the world of 3D.

We provide a snack to a hungry child because snacks will keep the kids eager to learn. It also encourages them to try their best. We need storage container to help organize materials used for the classroom.
