Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach Emotional Support at an elementary school. My school is Title I with all students receiving free breakfast and lunch. My students live at or below the poverty line with little encouragement for furthering their education.

I would use any donations to expose my students to programs and experiences that will enhance their social, emotional, and educational learning.

I believe that any child can succeed if they are given the proper time and attention and positive role models.

My Project

Teaching in an emotional support classroom, it is imperative that we utilize any means necessary to capture the students' attention and encourage them to invest in their academic, social, and emotional growth.

The supplies we requested will be used to pique our emotional support students' interest in learning and participating.

Utilizing different means of writing through whiteboards and colored pens gets the kids excited to write. In addition, cleaning products will help to ensure that our classroom remains clean and inviting.

We strive every day to create an inviting and compassionate environment for the social-emotional and educational growth of our students.
