My Students

Our school builds a community that empowers our students to reach their fullest potential by creating environments that foster strong relationships and lifelong learning. The students in my class show amazing perseverance in trying their absolute best. They show care and respect for their classmates and their classroom.

My class consists of 22 amazing students who are eager to learn.

Each student brings to the class their own uniqueness - creating a class environment that is welcoming, encouraging and kind. Through a growth mindset, each student gives their absolute best and demonstrate greatness each day.

My Project

Mindfulness is an essential tool to have in all of our tool boxes. Having the capabilities to cope through breathing strategies, to be able to understand our feelings, and knowing how the brain all plays a role in this are key to being mindful.

Teaching students how to be mindful, instead of mindfull, is the first step in implementing mindfulness into the classroom.

With the help of the books within this project, students will be able to dive deeper into breathing techniques, our own feelings, the feelings of others, empathy and compassion, and so much more! As well, resources such as the interactive brain will provide a hands on visual for students to further understand how our brain helps us be mindful. Additionally, the chair, rug, and coloring books will be used to create a calm down corner for all students to utilize and to practice the skills and coping strategies being taught and modeled each day.
