They are big enough for two students to comfortably work together, but also great for the kids who want to work alone. We currently have one set up as a regular height desk in our calming corner for students who need to take a minute for themselves, and two set up as standing desks. \r\n\r\nThe biggest highlight of the desks for the kids has to be the swinging foot petal. They absolutely love it!! The request has been made to lower the other two desks to sitting height once in a while so that they can use both feet. My students have been using these manipulatives every morning when they first come into the classroom to work on building their fine motor skills and promote creativity. They absolutely love these resources and were so excited when I told them that these were donated to our classroom to use. It felt like Christmas morning in my classroom- so many laughs, smiles, and pure happiness radiating throughout my room. These manipulatives have helped my students so much with stem building and creating different ideas. They sometimes choose to use the card that comes with them to create different models or they choose to create something on their own. Every time they create something new they want me to take a picture because they are so proud of what they made. It is so fun to watch the excitement in their eyes. My students are LOVING their new musical instruments. There are a few instruments some of my students have never played and this opened the conversation about different sounds and how we play instruments. The castanets, in particular, are a tricky instrument to play while still developing fine motor skills.
