As a first year teacher, I have envisioned what I hope my classroom will be. Incorporating flexible seating into my classroom has been a desire for quite sometime. Working in early childhood means that the students are active and crave movement. By utilizing flexible seating within my classroom my students will be able to choose where they feel most comfortable to sit so that they can be ready to learn and focus. Flexible seating creates a space for students that is comfortable and safe. The cushions will be used within the classroom for the students to set at the floor table, with a lap trap, or throughout the classroom to seat down and read a good book. The wobble chair provides students with a chair that allows them to wobble while working to better stay focused throughout the day. Replacing chairs with exercise balls creates a ball table that students are able to work at freely while being able to bounce slightly. As well, the stools provide a seat for the students that is less restricting than a chair and allows them to feel more comfortable during their work time.
