My students are amazing and fun-loving kids. They all have autism spectrum disorder, and two are non-verbal. They enjoy laughing, learning, and exploring the world around them.
The coronavirus global pandemic has changed the daily routine my students rely on.
The people they are used to seeing are now behind a screen and the places they are used to going are now closed for reasons they may not fully understand. The amount of resources they have at home also varies as the pandemic has impacted each family differently. The unique learning needs make providing the quality instruction they deserve difficult, but not impossible.
My Project
Having schools closed is challenging and confusing for all students, especially those with disabilities. Combining this with many other changes makes it difficult for students to continue learning.
By contributing to my project, you will help my students continue their education while schools are closed.
The materials included in this project would supply them with fun, screen-free activities that they are familiar with and that they enjoy. The puzzles, math manipulatives, markers and other materials will help them work on the essential skills they need to be successful.
