My Students

My classroom of students is authentic, hardworking, supportive of each other and their environment, engaged, and passionate. My students are very actively involved in their own learning because as the facilitator of my classroom I allow them to be the constructors of their own learning. Students in my classroom relish every opportunity they have for independent learning. Every student in my classroom has a unique voice and everyone in the room respects each other. Creating a classroom community and family is essential and one of the first priorities in my classroom. My students care for one another and I care about the kids and they know it. Students in my room feel that they belong and that they have a voice in their learning!

My Project

My students are very much a community, or family if you will. We are in desperate need of a central place for my students to come together in my classroom. We currently have foam pieces that fit together but they are not in the best shape, nor can all of my students be seated on them. We need a place that all of my students can come together and discuss daily events, participate in games and stations, or just settle in for a good read aloud. This carpet will not only make sitting on the floor more comfortable but also help build a sense of community.
