Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a K-12 charter school in Utah where about 40 percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. However, we test as one of the top schools in the state on standardized tests.

As a charter school, we do more with less, and it shows in the success of our students as they progress through the grade levels and beyond graduation.

Our students work hard and they are eager and excited to learn.

Our Special Education program is quickly growing. With students from kindergarten to fifth grade, our goal and duty is to make sure students' needs are met so they can grow and achieve their individualized goals.

My Project

Learning is difficult. Creating an environment conducive to learning as a teacher is difficult. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help me create a safe and flexible environment.

The donations will give my students control over how they learn and where they learn.

I believe giving students choice in their learning environment catapults their focus and desire to grow. I am excited to give them choices in seating such as Zenergy balls and wobbly chairs. I can't wait to see their faces when they get to choose stamps, markers, or sand to practice spelling and meet sensory needs.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
