My Students
The school I am assigned to is located in the heart of the Bronx. It has a very diverse group of students and teachers. Even though all the students are from separate backgrounds, there is unity, they learn as a group, eat lunch together as a family and play together as a team.
My students' passion for learning is priceless.
Despite the struggles they face in their daily lives, when they come to school and walk through my classroom door, they're ready! They are eager to learn something and take on a new challenge each and every day.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing my students fired up about a new topic.
My Project
During these difficult times, it is more important than ever that we as educators are culturally responsive. This school year, one of my biggest goals is to create a diverse classroom library where students would have access to a variety of books that informs and excites them but most importantly, books that they can relate to. Being exposed to a wide range of books across multiple genres that are representative of the diverse world in which we live will help my students build their appreciation for people of other ethnic groups. Kindly help me to give my students a choice and voice in their reading selections this school year.
