My Project

I am a school counselor at a diverse middle school serving students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade in Everett, WA. Middle school is one of the hardest times in a child's adolescence. Developmentally our youth are growing and learning so much at this age that it means the world when there is a comfortable and supportive place to be when you’re having a bad day or you find your self in need of support. The items in this project will help furnish my counseling office and meet the needs of 300 students on my caseload. For many of my students this will be their first time coming to visit with a counselor. I often sit with people and support them during some of the hardest times in their childhood. These furniture items will create a safe environment and complete our space with healing and student needs in mind.
