Creating a Comfy Classroom

My Project

My students have a very rigorous schedule. With a day that is just shy of seven hours, we spend the majority of our time in our classroom. Fourth graders are held to a very high academic standard, and we have a lot of material to cover.

These materials will provide my students with the opportunity to step away from their desks, and explore or create in a comfy spot.

To help break up the day, and get students out of their seats, we have centers for both math and reading. This allows them the opportunity to be out of their seats and explore their material in a different way while collaborating with peers. Often, my students are sitting on a cold tile floor, as our classroom carpet is not large enough to accommodate everyone. The carpet and cushions in this project will ensure there is room for all!
