I am requesting these items because they would help promote my vision of a math room that is a space for all students, regardless of academic ability. I am requesting laminate pouches because I laminate vocabulary and visual references around the room for students to use throughout each unit as well as across grade level (7th and 8th). I also laminate materials that students use in daily stations. I am requesting a dry-erase wipe group table because it is where I pull my small groups for the teacher station. It is also where I work with the students who receive Tier 2 Intervention. Currently, I use an individual dry-erase board but a dry-erase table would be more effective because it would be a larger where all students could see the example and work. A dry-erase table would also be used by students working at a station, creating an opportunity for learning to occur in a different way. Students would utilize the table to create their work collaboratively instead of working on worksheets. I am requesting dry erase markers, pens, and a pencil sharpener because they are items that I use frequently for instruction and having these items would help me be more prepared and successful which in turn will support the students in being successful. I am requesting a standing desk because it promotes my vision to keep an active presence during instruction. It will also allow me to access the smartboard with my laptop more effectively. Students would benefit from this because I would be present in front of the class. Binders would be used for students who have missing work or were absent. It promotes students to become more independent and have ownership in their work by getting the items they need.
