This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom which serves students in grades K-8th in math and language arts interventions has 12 harsh fluorescent lights which often distract students from learning due to a harsh glare on our whiteboard and cause eye strain and headaches.

Light covers soften harsh fluorescent light to create an inviting and calmly lit educational environment to support learning.

Many of our students are sensitive to the harsh light from fluorescent lights which can cause eye strain, headaches, and migraines as well as distract from learning with a harsh glare making our classroom whiteboard hard to read. These magnetic and fire-retardant light filters soften the light and help increase student focus and participation. Plus, the covers are in a fun sky and cloud pattern which would also help create a calming learning environment.

My project also includes peel-and-stick paper to cover our old, cracking, and peeling countertops to make our classroom feel clean and updated.
