Our school sits in the middle of a small community that once was an industrial town but has fallen on extreme hard times. Our school is made up of students from diverse backgrounds with varied experiences. There are 21 children in my classroom and our building consists of grades 1-2. Over 85% of the students come from considerable poverty. This year 100% of the students in our district receive free lunches. They are loving, hard working, and always appreciate the simple things in life. The teachers in my building strive to provide comfortable, loving, educational work areas for every student. We say that our classroom doors aren't just doors that open up into a room, but doors that open to a home full of learning. Our classrooms are our homes.

My Project
My students would love learning with Osmo. Osmo fosters learning in key areas such as: creative problem solving, art, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and common core.
Tell me and I forge, Teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn.
Benjamin Franklin
Coding Awbie teaches logic, problem solving skills, and coding. Osmo Genius Kit encourages visual thinking (Tangram), problem solving (Newton), and creative drawing skills (Masterpiece). It turns core subjects, like math (Numbers) and spelling (Words), into fearless fun. Having a second base will allow more children to engage in learning at the same time.
Osmo will inspire creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration in my classroom.
