Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is part social studies and part creative space. Sadly, our school has no visual arts electives. As a history teacher, I am able to integrate the arts into our lessons.

Art plays a crucial role in our curriculum, not only in fostering creativity but also in helping students express their feelings, adapt to their new environment, and bridge cultural gaps.

We need a variety of art supplies. Students can design long lasting works with mosaics tile pieces and adhesives. Paper cutting and folding arts are very challenging. An assortment of quality paper styles: vintage, origami paper, and tissue will provide endless possibilities. Regardless of their teenage coolness, they still love stickers, glitter, pom poms, and glitter pens. One of my goals is to create a safe place for students to feel that they can be themselves. They will explore their interests and uncover their passions. Thank you for helping us.
