Create and Cut with a ChompSaw and Cardboard

My Project

Teaching in a Title I school where 2/3 of the students are on free or reduced lunch can make doing extra projects a challenge. I want to give my students opportunities that they would not normally have outside of school. Educational STEAM projects are one way to help my students build creative solutions to real world problems.

Having the right tools for constructing projects makes projects successful.

When I ask students to make something, I need to give them the right supplies that will make it possible. The ChompSaw is a child-friendly tool. It will allow precise cuts but still keep them safe. The maker space tools help students with creative, out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving skills. One project we do each year is an ecosystem and volume animal project. The students study an animal’s ecosystem and create the animal out of boxes. The grey paper is helpful in making certain animals look like the kind of animal the students are researching.

I appreciate any support you can give in getting these items to help my students develop the ability to work through problems in an innovative way.
