This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Don't you love to cuddle up with a good book and read for hours at a time? My students struggle to find a comfortable spot in the room to keep them focused on reading...but you can help give them a "Reading Wonderland" in our classroom!

Our students are mostly from the projects that surround our school.

They are high poverty (meaning most of the students get free or reduced price lunches). In my classroom, my students are no exception. They come to school without many of the supplies needed and love the consistency that school provides for them. My students are curious little learners, and they love to explore different books. They are in the 4th grade special education classroom, and they need a lot of different resources to access the 4th grade curriculum/standards.

My Project

Help make my classroom as comfortable for my students as it can be. I am hoping to fill our Reading Library with bean bags (3) and pillows (5) so that students will be drawn to the reading area where they will increase their stamina and ability in reading. These colorful beanbags and pillows will invite these students to stay and read and will hopefully foster the great love of reading in all of my students.

Every child deserves to fall in love with reading, and finding a safe, comforting, warm, and welcome space to do this can make all of the difference.

Please help me provide this for my students. Who knows what the future could bring for this new generation of devoted readers!
