Crazy for Comprehension!

Help me give my students book bins and Teachers Pay Teachers reading materials to improve reading comprehension, reading fluency, vocabulary knowledge and so much more! We also want to keep our novels organized so they stay in tip top condition.

My Project

My 3rd grade students come in each day eager to learn and grow! They are a group that LOVE to be challenged. My students are always eager to hear what our next novel study will be so they can take on another exciting adventure while improving their reading comprehension, reading fluency, and vocabulary knowledge.

The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card that I am asking for in my project will enhance my students' reading comprehension, reading fluency, vocabulary knowledge and so much more.

I will purchase novel study materials that will include comprehension questions, summarizing skills, extension activities, end of book assessments, digital activities, and more. The book bins will help keep our novels neatly organized and help them stay in tip top condition so I can use them year after year.

I chose a novel based on reading level and themes (holidays, events, etc.) that we are focusing on or are upcoming. We read 1-2 chapters a day reining in on vocabulary and reading comprehension skills which are important components of the End of Grade test. I have students read paragraphs aloud which helps improve their reading fluency. Novel studies are fun, interactive, and engaging so I plan to continue doing them throughout my teaching career. My students love them!
