This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you picked up a chapter book that you couldn't put down? My students are in need of chapter books to allow them to discover their ability and desire to read.

My inner city 3rd grade students will be working on reading a chapter book and sharing their book with the class.

They will read many different books written by the same author and compare and contrast the differences in each book. An obstacle that my students are facing is our school library does not have these books that are needed for their reading project. Sadly, many of them do not have access to their public library system which means, we do not have the appropriate books. With these chapter books my students will present their findings of the differences from these authors and their books during our literacy night for parents and other teachers.

My Project

With these six chapter book sets my students will present their findings of the differences from these authors and their books during our literacy night for parents and other teachers. You will help make my students' dreams come true by empowering their reading and giving them confidence in their reading and research skills. The students enjoy reading but we do not have the proper resources to make their dreams become a reality.

By helping my class reach their dream of having chapter books in our classroom, you will be helping a child's dream.

My students are amazing me every day at the growth they are making in reading. Please allow their growth to continue by helping to fund our project.
