My Project

Our school has a very diverse population of students coming from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We serve a population from Pre-K to grade 8 and include those with physical and developmental disabilities. Our diversity is what makes us a first choice for families in our district.

Our youngest students often engage in writing and drawing activities while in the library to support their writing development, but we do not have basic supplies like crayons!

Your donation will help us to purchase new crayons for our students to use for the remainder of the school year. Right now, we have old broken crayons that do not inspire students to do their best work or encourage a love of writing. Our entire school is focusing on supporting student writing gains, and the library has an important role to play in this task. Each week, students in kindergarten and first grade are given high quality writing tasks while they visit the library, and drawing, in addition to writing, is a basic part of the writing process for our youngest students. Your donation will help our youngest students to get new crayons and encourage their love of writing and learning.
