Our school is a Title I school that supplies every child with breakfast and lunch daily. It serves a diverse population, with students from all socioeconomic, military, special needs, and cultural backgrounds. It is a great place to teach!
This year I have the most amazing group of kindergarten students, and I am blessed to be their teacher!
They are loving, kind, thoughtful, smart, and hardworking! They make my days bright and cheerful! They always surprise me with sweet cards, beautiful pictures, and hugs of love, especially on those days that I need it! My kinders shower me with love and affection, and always want to be my side, even after the day is done! They melt my heart each and every day!
In our classroom, we practice kindness. I love seeing my kinders hugging, supporting and encouraging each other! When someone sheds a tear, there are 10 students grabbing a tissue and hugging him/her to make him/her feel better! When I think of these moments, it is very hard not to get emotional. My kids truly are the sweetest, kindest, little people I have ever met! Thank you for supporting these amazing students!
My scholars have been working very hard this year, and it shows! They have been hard at work writing, drawing, cutting, glueing, and pasting. Our supply cabinet is getting dangerously low in certain items.
In order for my scholars to be successful, there are several items we need to restock in order to make it through the school year.
I am requesting Crayola crayons in bulk because we seem to use these colors, and they are the first to go. We color a lot in kindergarten, so these crayons are needed to keep our pictures looking colorful and detailed. We also need some more glue sticks. We cut and paste and sort every single day, so we go through a lot of glue sticks. These glue sticks are needed to complete our work. I am also requesting highlighters. My scholars love to find text evidence, and the highlighters help us find the text evidence in our passages. The composition notebooks are used as our writing journals. These journals are so hard to find, and I need them for my incoming scholars. The dry erase markers are used every day to work on spelling, phonics, and math. These markers are vital to what we do every day.
We like to send home homework, notes, classwork, and assessments in their folders. The folders we have are falling apart because they are not very sturdy. The folders I am requesting are made of a durable material, and they will allow me to put their name, classroom teacher, and classroom number in the front pocket, while keeping everything organized inside. These supplies will help our scholars be successful and finish the year off strong!
