My Students

I teach in a multi-grade 3rd-5th classroom full of inquisitive and interesting 8-11-year-old boys and girls. All of our students receive free lunch, and many of our families live below the poverty line. Our students have different needs, including requiring one-on-one learning, adapted materials, extra support, and coping skills. Our students are in our Day Treatment setting due to not being successful in a regular education classroom.

Our students are funny, smart, and creative.

Our students thrive on hands-on projects, experiments, and of course, reinforcements. Our kids come to us with very little and have very high needs. With all this, our attendance is high, and their eagerness to learn is infectious!

My Project

Our students love art class. They are creative and love to use their imagination to create exciting art projects. However, we are very limited in what we can do due to a lack of supplies.

This Cricut maker will allow our students to make everything from paper crafts, iron-on, and vinyl decals to sewing projects, leather crafts, and balsa models.

Our students will be able to make gifts for others as well as themselves.

Some of the lessons that we will be able to do with the Cricut maker are t-shirt designs, paper dolls, and of course using technology.
