Our center is a 5 star Step Up to Quality center. Our Head Start program provides early educational experiences for children at or below the poverty level. The children may come from low-income backgrounds, but they are rich in the love of their families. Our center goes above and beyond to build a strong bond between the child and their families. We not only teach the child, but we also empower the families and, in doing so, we see growth, not only in the child but in the family as well. Our children are learning how to better our future.
My Project
I want to give the children the opportunity I had attending summer recreation camps with lots of crafting. The children will be able to use the materials and create their own masterpieces with the materials being requested.
The children will be creating their artwork masterpieces outside at the picnic tables as I did when I was a child.
The children will be able to create tie-dye t-shirts that they will be able to wear throughout the summer. I included plaster of Paris for the children to create stepping stone handprints for the children to ass into the vegetable garden.
