Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All my students are hardworking PreK students who live in Washington Heights and the Bronx. They are currently learning at home, and hopefully staying in their homes.
They are filling their time with educational and engaging activities that I model online, but I notice that many are running low on resources needed in order to engage in these activities.
My Project
This project includes basic materials needed for my students to complete creative projects and activities from the safety of their home during this pandemic. It is difficult to guarantee that students have the supplies at home to engage in the activities that I am modeling for them online.
I created this project to make sure that my students have materials needed to engage in engaging activities during this difficult time spent entirely at home.
Not only are these activities engaging, but they also help students work on their fine motor skills and other educational skills. For example, the beads and string will help students work with their fine motor skills.
The care packages with these materials in them will also have the added benefit of reminding my students that I, and the school, are still there for them, even during this difficult time.
