This has helped them become more independent learners and has strengthened their vocabulary and comprehension skills.\r\n\r\nOne special moment happened during a reading center when a group of students came across a challenging word in their story. They worked together to find the word in the dictionary and were so proud when they discovered the meaning on their own. When we read our emotions book together, students talk about times when they have felt similar emotions and how they handled those situations. These conversations help build empathy and encourage students to support one another.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with this book. Some students who previously struggled to express how they felt are now more comfortable using words to describe their emotions. Others enjoy pointing out how the characters feel and suggesting ways the characters can calm down or solve a problem.
