This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Can you imagine what it would be like to spend your days mentally decoding everything that was said to you?

The above description is just a regular day for my ESOL students.

They are working hard to master the English language, but each day still consists largely of decoding and mentally translating each and every lesson and conversation. I love to be by their sides, supporting their learning while they are in class, but every day there are periods of time when they are on their own.

My Project

That's where the Chromebook comes into play! My students who are the furthest away from English mastery have a tendency to zone out when they cannot comprehend what is happening in class. I would love for them to have access to a Chromebook during those periods of time. They could access English learning games and activities, and translate instructions and questions through Google translate. And those uses are just the tip of the iceberg with this great technology!

Please help my English language learners to take advantage of every opportunity for learning.

I know that they desperately want to master the language, and the Chromebook would give them yet another tool for learning. Thank you so much for supporting my deserving students!
