Fifth grade students are full of energy and have a passion to learn about the world around them. My students love to engage in hands-on experiences, and they enjoy being able to move around and explore while learning. They are insightful, creative, and innovative, and the classroom is an open door to help guide them to find their passions.
I want my classroom to feel like a second home for my students.

My Project
My 5th grade students love to read and check out books in the classroom. I am a first year teacher, and I am working on building my classroom library to give my students great books to read during Daily 5 or whenever they finish classwork early. I am excited to give my students a set of 20 best-selling books to help foster their love and appreciation for reading. The books also give me a selection to choose from for reading to my students during read-aloud time. I also like to extend learning and cross subjects with reading with math, and I would like to give my students math books about important math topics, such as fractions, to read during math time.
My students love to read, and I am excited to give them many opportunities to cozy up with a good book.
In order to help my students engage in reading, I also would like to give them flexible seating options. My students are full of energy, and they like to get out of their seats and move around the classroom. By giving them comfy floor seats, my students can use the floor space to cozy up with their books. Please help me give my students a classroom library and cozy seats!
