This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

By giving students the freedom to choose their own learning environment, we can unlock their full potential and watch them thrive! During independent reading time, my students get to decide where they feel most comfortable and focused in the classroom. They might choose to sit at their desk, lay on the floor under a desk or table, or lounge on one of our few floor cushions. It's amazing to see how a comfortable learning space can boost their motivation and engagement.

When students are given the autonomy to choose their own seating, they become more invested in their work and more likely to stay on task.

It's a game-changer! The new products I've selected will take our flexible seating to the next level. The tents will provide a quiet, cozy retreat for solo readers or a can be used as a buddy reading nook. They can also serve as a calming space for students who need a little extra support. And the new floor cushions will add even more comfort and flexibility to our learning environment. They're lightweight, easy to move around, and can be used anywhere in the classroom.

I've seen firsthand the incredible impact that comfort and choice can have on my students' work and attitude. With these new additions, I'm confident that we'll see even more growth, enthusiasm, and a deeper love for reading. It's an exciting time for our classroom, and I can't wait to see my students flourish!
