Help me give my students theses wonderful flexible seats. The students will have the choice and support on the rug during circle time, reading or center, to use these cozy seats.
My students are being introduced to new experiences in a school setting for the first time. In our pre-K classroom, our goal is to work as a family, watch out for each other, try new things, and having fun through learning. They come to school enjoying many hands-on projects that align to the thematic units from the pre-K curriculum. They grow both personally and academically through play and many exciting experiences.

Our school is a NYC elementary school in Staten Island. I teach in a general education pre-K classroom. Many of my students need extra support to help them succeed in their first school experience. The families in my classroom work closely with me to create a team that can help create an atmosphere the students can thrive and learn. Our motto is “I Can Do It!
Part of the learning approaches in the classroom incorporates multi-sensory approaches to learning and to learn through experimentation. Making their experiences meaningful and memorable is my goal. Creating curious minds, molding students who want to seek out answers to questions, develop plans, and follow through with their ideas.
My Project
These flexible seats are a way to help children maintain their bodies during so many different activities. These seats will help children with their posture on the carpet, focus during a story, and just relax when they need it the most.
I have used seats like these in the past and have seen children’s bodies change in just one seating.
In my classroom, I have some students who need extra supports. These students may need that support on the carpet and the bean bags I currently have help, but they do not really fit on the rug (too big). These seats will be accessible to the children, easy to carry, open, and they feel comfy cozy. RELAXATION is the key to an open mind.
