Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love school and work very hard every day! I take pride in them being so kind, respectful, and enthusiastic. I love showing my students new experiences, materials, tools, and anything that will help them grow.

Some students did not attend preschool and didn't have an early childhood experience with play, creativity, or opportunities to gain independence!

I am excited to have a classroom where students can engage in hands-on student lead learning beyond our classroom walls!

My Project

The cozy, classroom fireplace will be enticing for students to read for enjoyment. In kindergarten, students can sometimes lose their love for reading when we focus too much on fluency and sight words.

I would love for students to be able to read what they want in an environment that excites and encourages them.

Each week we read our decodable readers, library books, and class story for the week. Students are learning how to become detailed storytellers with picture books. The fireplace will allow students to feel safe and it would encourage them to pick up a book and read!
