Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of kids who are ready to take on the world. Their families come from all corners of the globe and somehow we make a wonderful and perfect family in our class. We speak many languages and have different backgrounds but we share our empathy and love for each other. One of our goals this school year is to engage in a few projects where we will learn the many challenges that kids around the world face and creatively try to solve them. We will use all the tools given to us to problem solve and collaborate. We can change the world!

My Project

4th graders enjoy moving around the classroom and finding their own reading nooks to enjoy reading their next chapter book.

To promote independent reading, I am hoping we can get some carpet squares and cardboard storage organizers.

Because of Covid, large carpets were removed from our classrooms and now we don't have any warm spaces for students to sit. The cozy carpet squares are the best solution for having students sit anywhere in the classroom while also staying socially distanced. The cardboard organizers are perfect for holding students' book selections throughout the week.

These two tools will create an inviting and warm atmosphere where students can have many options to read and work anywhere!
