My Students

Students need an inviting environment to learn. I would like to create an environment for my students that allows them to work in an atmosphere that is comfortable and works for them.

Some students like working at a conventional table or desk while others need something different.

I have seen students work in various areas of the Library and would like them to have options for their learning environment.

I would like to provide a welcoming area for students to work on projects and listen to stories collaboratively.

My Project

Reading is a life-long skill. With today's tech savvy students, I want to create a comfortable environment for today's diverse learners. I would like to add a rocking chair to my Library so I can engage younger students through animated read-alouds as well as buddy reading.

Today's students spend too much time sitting in the classroom.

I am also looking to purchase a high top table to accommodate older students who would like to stand while completing their work.

The addition of the rocking chair and the high top table allow for students of diverse needs to have a cozy learning nook.
