This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students are full of energy, curiosity, and excitement to learn. Each child enters the classroom with unique strengths, interests, and learning styles. As a first-year kindergarten teacher, I want to create an environment where every student feels comfortable, supported, and excited to participate in learning activities throughout the day.

Flexible seating can make a powerful difference in helping young learners stay engaged, focused, and comfortable while learning.

The bean bag chairs, floor cushions, and comfy pillow will provide students with alternative seating options during reading, small-group instruction, partner work, and independent learning time. These seating choices help students feel more relaxed and allow them to learn in ways that best meet their individual needs. The chair pockets will help students stay organized by providing a designated place to store books, folders, and classroom materials, encouraging responsibility and independence.

My goal is to create a classroom where students feel welcomed, valued, and ready to learn. By providing flexible seating and organizational tools, I can help foster a positive learning environment that supports collaboration, engagement, and a love of learning.
