I have a wonderfully energetic group of second graders. My students love to explore and learn. They are bright young learners with big hearts. My students come into my classroom every morning with a bright smile and excited to learn. They are the greatest group of kids and I am so blessed to be their teacher.
We need some help!
Our school is in a low-income area and serves many students who receive free or reduced lunch. In addition, many students in our school speak English as a second language. We have a lot of needs as a school and as a classroom.
My students need flexible seating in the classroom to provide a comfortable and cozy learning environment. We will use the stools for our center tables as well as the cushions for the floor centers. Both of these flexible seating options make a huge difference in the classroom. We can also use bouncy bands for the students desks to get out any extra energy in a quiet way.
When the classroom is fun and comfortable, the students enjoy coming every day ready to learn.
Our class can use some fun decorations to give it a more homey feel. Adding simple decorations such as tropical decor and pineapples to the room can really make a difference. We need simple supplies such as markers and fun paper to start the year off strong. We can also use a charging station for our technology center. Snack is always helpful in the classroom since some students are unable to bring snack.
