My Project

These lighting options will create a calm, cozy environment for my students when they come into my classroom. I am a special education teacher who works with students with a variety of disabilities. Many students can exhibit challenging behaviors and they utilize my classroom as a safe environment when they are escalated.

My goal is that my classroom will be a more inviting, calming space for students that need a space to calm down.

I hope to utilize more calming and interactive lighting that they have access to when they feel dysregulated.

Although my students can exhibit challenging behaviors at times, they are also the most special, caring and empathic students. It is amazing to see all the "wins" and progress that they make each day. I would love to be able to create a space that can help them be even more successful.
