Our little school is located in the capital city of Charleston, West Virginia. The students our school serves come from low-income families and may not have many resources available to them. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students come to school everyday with smiles on their faces and eagerness in their hearts.
They enjoy learning about anything and everything that I bring to the table. They may not have everything they need in their lives, but we work together to overcome many of the obstacles that stand in their way through the love of learning!
My Project
The spring semester brings a new excitement in our classroom: The ability to read! While I've always worked really hard in creating an awesome environment for my students, our classroom library is anything but awesome.
My dream is to transform our classroom library into a comfortable, cozy and inviting reading nook for my kiddos!
We all like to be comfortable when we are trying to read a good book. Kids who have just learned how to read need to experience the joy of a quiet reading nook. What better way to encourage reading than having an exciting place to go to try out their new reading skills?!
