My students are a lively group with multiple needs and learning modalities. Each morning and before each lesson, we gather on our classroom carpet to do our morning meeting and lesson. After this, students break off into centers around the room and utilize our other classroom rugs. Unfortunately, due to a severe toilet overflowing issue, the rugs in my classroom were ruined.
The culture of community in my classroom begins each day on our cherished classroom rug.
Students love to gather together each day here to listen to stories, turn and talk with each other during lessons, cozy up during a short instructional video, and the list goes on. I'm hopeful that, with the support of donors, I can continue this routine that has been established through the year with my little learners.
