Help me give my students the opportunity to escape all of the negativity that COVID has set forth in their lives by allowing them the opportunity to laminate their favorite pieces of artwork right in class.

My students are unique and adorable! They are unique in that they speak two languages fluently (Spanish and English) and they are working on mastering how to write and read in both. Some of our students drive from all corners of the Salt Lake City area to be a part of the Dual-Language program. It is a Title I school, which means many face poverty. What humbles me is that all of our students in our program have parents attending conferences each year except for a couple even though some have worked two or three jobs before they see me on those days. They want their students to do well, and their children respect their school and teachers.
Covid has created problems this year more than last year.
I have groups of students that are out of school for six weeks at a time and these waves of absences and not being able to attend school happen at different times throughout the year, so I have been getting things together for many of them while teaching in person as well.
My Project
Let students escape from the reality of COVID by providing them the opportunity to be creative with their art creations and to keep school awards looking fresh. The teacher can laminate that special artwork or special recognition before it gets smashed up in their backpacks. In addition, allow them the opportunity to have adjustable seating to be able to move around at their spots to relieve any anxiety that he/she may be having that day.
Students have a harder time focusing with all of the things that they experience in their lives.
All of the reading, math, and writing games should help students learn as well as get away from the fear of COVID, parents out of work due to COVID, etc. Let them escape and have fun learning! Let them walk away from my classroom with the question, "COVID, what COVID?"
Thank you for considering this project! My students appreciate the smallest things. For example, I recently gave them an ice cream party. I got the nice brands of ice cream bars, and you would have thought I would have given them gold. They were so appreciative of them, and I felt like a rockstar from such a small act. They voted for that again on their third class reward party.:). They are amazing kids!
