Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a physical education teacher I see, daily, how passionate and enthusiastic my students are about sports and physical activity. Unfortunately, our resources are limited. I truly believe that my students could strive if they had access to more resources to help them excel to the next level so that they can understand the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle.

My Project

I serve a fantastic group of 6th-grade students, my students will be able to learn what it means to live an active lifestyle and appreciate different forms of physical education by learning hands-on.

My students will be able to develop essential motor skills used for daily living.

The medicine balls, battle rope, and agility ladder will help students promote an active lifestyle by getting them moving and learning, in a controlled setting, how to properly use the equipment to improve physical fitness. The ring toss and bowling sets will help challenge students’ thinking in a fun environment through developing their aim and throwing with enough force to accurately get to the target. The net and beach balls will help students develop teamwork, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills as they play team games.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
