Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are loving pre-kindergarten students who are economically disadvantaged. Most come from homes with limited learning opportunities and resources. When they are introduced to the opportunity to discover and learn, they are very excited. Our class is a chance for these children to have experiences that will prepare them for kindergarten and beyond!
Since our classroom is an early childhood classroom of four-year-olds, our children's learning is focused on playing.
They think they are playing, but we really have lots of learning hidden in there.
My Project
The current normal for our PreK classroom looks much different from what it usually looks like. Because of this, we need a few things to help our children learn virtually and face-to-face.
Adding a monitor, Ipad and Osmo games to our classroom will help me to make virtual learning and face-to-face learning more efficient.
The monitor will allow use to be able to teach virtually more efficiently by being able to see the entire class at once. The Ipad will allow the students to be able to work with the activities that we get with the TPT gift card. For face-to-face learning, these gift cards will also provide activities that can be printed out and laminated with the laminating sheets, so they can be used again. Finally, the Osmo games will allow more students to be engaged with interactive games!
The Osmo sets with the iPad will allow students to learn through interactive games that will help the students master letter recognition, math concepts and following directions. We have a few of these, but since the children are not allowed to share, we need more of them.
