Your donations are so much appreciated! It means the world to me that, with your help, I am able to provide my student with extra items to help make students have a safe and healthy school year. This project supplied my clinic with small bathroom cups used for taking medicine and salt water gargles for my students. I use the cone cups to cover one eye at a time for vision screenings. They are discarded after every use to keep from spreading germs at school. The plastic trays are used to take in medications or student papers as well sending information out to staff or parents. The white desk will be used for procedures and for vision screenings for the littlest learners that have to point to the letters because they do not know all of their letters. Labels are used to help in organizing medications and student medical folders. Your donations to my clinic helped bring all of these items to the school clinic. I am a school nurse and have to keep 20+ student medications in a secure area, but also allow me to administer the medications in a hurry. Each student has their own box that is labeled with their name and birthdate. Medications stored in these boxes include Asthma inhalers, nebulizer supplies, seizure medications and Epipens for food allergies.\r\nEach box zips up and has room for the medication and even the spacers for Asthma. Many of my students come to school without having had a full meal, and by the time we reach mid-morning or the afternoon, their energy and concentration can drop significantly. Now, we have built in a short \"brain boost\" break where students can grab a snack and reset. This has become an essential part of our routine. During one recent reading workshop, I noticed a remarkable difference—students who would typically struggle to stay focused were actively participating, discussing the text, and even volunteering to read aloud. Something as simple as having a snack beforehand helped them show up ready to learn.\r\nOne particularly meaningful moment happened during a math group activity. Students were working collaboratively to solve multi-step problems, and I quietly offered snacks before we began. The shift in mood was immediate. Students were more patient with each other, more willing to explain their thinking, and less frustrated when they encountered challenges. One student even said, \"I can think better now,\" which perfectly sums up the impact you've had. Students are currently working on group projects that require sustained focus, problem-solving, and teamwork. Having access to snacks ensures that they can maintain their energy and stay engaged for longer periods of time. Our next steps include incorporating longer work sessions where students research, create, and present their ideas—and these snacks will play a key role in keeping them fueled and ready.\r\nWe also plan to involve students more in taking ownership of our classroom routines, including responsibly managing snack time and ensuring that everyone has access.
