Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a fitness-based charter school with 74% free or reduced-price lunches. A majority of the demographic of students our school serves are students of a second language. Having as many resources as we can will help these students have access to a brighter future.

Our school serves students from K-8th grade.

Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also runs a food pantry for our families. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful.

My Project

Due to COV19 my students will not be in the classroom. We will take our learning online, however, all of my students do not have access to a laptop at home. This saddens me because they really need to have some normalcy at home. Having a laptop will help me still teach my students and be available for any questions they may have. They have worked so hard thus far that backtracking because of lack of technology is unacceptable. I know there is a community of people that can help me in helping these students reach educational success during these troubled times.
