Counting With Apples and Pumpkins on a White Board

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The pre-kinder math standard goal is for students to learn to count from 1 to 20. Students will apply math lessons as they interactively engage by coming up to the white board and attaching a pumpkin or apple and writing the number on the white board. With the white board we can use individual interactive participation and whole group. Different students can come up an attach an apple as the whole class chants.

The pre-kinder students are eager to learn and are at an age with good retention skills.

With this mobile white board we can attach any item pertaining to the season, such as apples and pumpkins for fall (this also incorporates science - the growth of plants and certain time of the year). We can hang snowflakes, fir trees, snowmen for winter. Every season we can use related objects. The mobile white board is accessible at the lower bottom for the height of the students. I can use the top part for guided instruction. We can flip the board around and add other math lesson routines.
