My students have intellectual disabilities and they learn differently from other students at our school and need more time process information.
All my student are hard working individual eager to learn new skills and apply those skills as needed in their lives.
We are promoting a healthy way of life for all, not just our students but their families as well. If we teach nutrition early rather than later all students will be able to make healthier food choices. Our school district currently offers more food choices and alternatives. My students are the reason I come to work everyday and the reason I make significant contributions to them as their teacher. My students have participated in Special Olympics and have competed BAA indoor track and field and won medals. I want to teach my students how to eat healthy for life to lower health risks later in life.
My students are learning about health, wellness, and promoting healthier dietary needs. The pedometers and water bottles will help my students while they "walk into health and wellness". My students are not able to participate in extracurricular activities, due to their individual intellectual disabilities and transportation schedules. We have incorporated an exercise component into our health and wellness program.
My students will be able to visually see their individual progress in how many steps they take daily.
We will make graphs to show individual progress and the benefits of walking daily. We want to walk into health and wellness to become healthier .
