This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am thrilled to introduce you to our vibrant pre-K class, where young minds are eager to embark on exciting mathematical adventures. Our goal is to provide our little learners with Lakeshore counters, an invaluable resource that will lay the foundation for their mathematical understanding.

Lakeshore counters are versatile, colorful, and engaging manipulatives that make learning mathematics a hands-on and enjoyable experience.

These counters will enable our pre-K students to explore and grasp fundamental mathematical concepts, including counting, sorting, and basic operations.

What will students learn?

Counting is a crucial skill that forms the basis of future mathematical understanding. With Lakeshore counters, our students will engage in interactive activities that promote:

Counting Skills: Students will practice counting from 1 to 20 and beyond, laying a solid foundation for future numeracy.

Sorting and Categorizing: The counters will be used for sorting and categorizing activities, fostering critical thinking and classification abilities.

Basic Operations: Through hands-on experiences with the counters, students will begin to understand basic mathematical operations like addition and subtraction in a concrete and tangible way.
