Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students who are referred for counseling services initially lack enthusiasm and may be hesitant to receive the help they need due to the assumption that the sessions will be boring.

I want to help de-stigmatize mental health by showing students that counseling can be a fun and engaging way to learn skills that prepare them to handle stressors and improve their quality of life.

Using these supplies, I will play games to build connections with students, make slime and affirmation bracelets to increase coping skills, and increase sensory stimulation through fidgets and stress balls.

These items will really brighten up my students' days, allow them to have fun. and help bring a smile to their faces during challenging times in their lives. Thank you so much for helping me make school-based counseling a place that kids feel excited to be!
