My students need a non-fiction reading comprehension learning center, read about biography comprehension cards complete set, comprehension quickie cards, non-fiction reading comprehension cards, building fluency card bank, fluency skills tracing transparencies, and a non-fiction reading comprehension overhead kit.

The greatest gift you can give to a student is the skills and motivation to believe they can reach their dreams and succeed at anything they desire. I teach a 3rd grade class at an at risk public school. We have an 80% free and reduced lunch rate. We also have a high minority rate. There are several special education programs at our building.

Since the economy took such a turn for the worse this year, it has put a huge burden on my ability to provide up-to-date resources for my classroom. This is added to the fact that our school was a school in need of assistance for reading last year. My resources are very out dated and do not meet the needs of my students to prepare them for future academic success. Due to my school's lower socio-economic status, materials are in short supply.

I believe reading is the key to unlock the future for a student's success in life. By providing them with various resources that teach the the skills of comprehension and fluency, this goal can be reached by all students. My students need different resources like a non-fiction reading comprehension learning center.

There is nothing more powerful or worth while than the joy you see when a student succeeds and becomes a life long reader. Doors are opened and opportunities expand for them. More importantly than that is the excitement and motivation it creates in students to want to achieve more and reach their highest potential possible. Only then can they truly be happy.
