This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

A typical day in our first grade classroom is full of energy and lots of learning. As we journey through this year, I anticipate a great year of teaching, learning, and exploring both in and out of the classroom.

I presently teach in an area of lower socioeconomic status, where I have the pleasure of serving a group of 22 first graders.

Here at our school, students have the opportunity to grow and discover themselves. Learning is a priority for not only the educators but also our students. It is our mission, that each and everyday that we pass through the halls of our Elementary school, we are striving for excellence and raising the bar.

My Project

I am requesting portable rolling coolers so that we can transport student lunches when taking field trips. We are presently having to transport lunches in large bags and/or paper boxes. This method is not only strenuous on the back of the individual carrying them, but also does not provide a suitable and proper means of storage for perishable items such a milk. The coolers will allow for student lunches to be properly stored, thus ensuring that when consumed it not spoiled and posing a hazard to students.

Donations to this project will guarantee that our students are consuming properly stored food.

While they are with us, we are responsible for serving them lunch and we must do so safely. That includes ensuring food quality while on field trips.
